What are the aims of the IMYP Science?

1. Stimulate curiosity, interest in and enjoyment of science
2. Develop an awareness of science as a social and cultural activity which has strengths and limitations
3. Develop skills to design and perform investigations, collaborate and communicate, evaluate evidence and reach conclusions
4. Cultivate analytical, inquiring and flexible minds that pose questions, solve problems, construct explanations and judge arguments
5. Develop an ability to evaluate and communicate scientific evidence, and understand the importance of experimental evidence in supporting scientific ideas
6. Develop care and sensitivity towards the living and non-living environments and an awareness of the impact of developments in technology on the environment
7. Reflect on learning experiences and make informed choices.
8. Enable candidates to acquire a sound foundation of knowledge and understanding for future studies, and to facilitate the smooth transfer to IGCSE
